February re-cap
“...you’re not the main character in everyone’s story but you’re the main character in yours...”
Life takes different turns and we are expected to just learn to live with it, my February has been long, way too long. Just 28 days and it felt like I was navigating through a whole year.
This letter is going to be a brief re-cap of my February:
I started this month with no light and uncooked stew because some ‘big boys’ could switch the light off and on at wish- absurd.
I resumed 2nd semester this month. I was looking forward to resuming but, meh...
Now to the main point:
I learnt to allow people to make mistakes. Let me explain; I have a friend who did a terrible thing I’m shocked and disappointed but, that doesn’t mean I have the right to judge or look down on them. No one including myself is at their best version yet so, a little forgiving spirit ‘ear and dear’ could help that good person or friend. A very large emphasis on the ‘good person.’
People don’t notice your features in the way you think they do. What event led to this, my friend came to visit and as I was seeing her off she said her current outfit was what she wore to my room the previous day, and I didn’t even notice! Please do not sell yourself short because of some assumptions you’ve made up yourself. We are all too selfish and self-conscious to even notice the next person.
Don’t rate people that don’t rate you. For example, that friend that doesn’t post your pictures but posts other people s/he is not friends with knows what s/he’s doing!!!
You should start evaluating yourself now. How? A great speaker once said; ‘write your autobiography early’ not because you’re ready to die but for you to evaluate yourself and know where you require more effort.
A lot happened and all of that rather than tell the story I picked out the lessons. Also, I started a series limited to my WhatsApp Story for now - Random talks by Seyifunmi and consistency have been the order of the day except I skipped the election weekend. And, I started writing out items on my wish list.. may or may never do them but let’s see (fingers crossed).
I hope this letter meets you well and is timely, have a safe ride through March!
